*Inserts cue music* ‘It’s been a long day without you my friends…’ Well, more like long weeks, but it’s a good thing we’re about to delve into a life lately post! Yay! You know, one thing I’ve noticed lately is that as unpredictable as these times are, everyone seems to be finding new and exciting ways to stay sane and keep life moving.
I mean, what can we really do right? Personally, I think diverse kinds of creativity have been unleashed and you know what? I am totally here for it!
How are you? Yes, you reading this.
I know what comes to your mind may be a generic response, but I want you to know that there are no hard and fast rules as to how we’re supposed to feel, especially now when everything is weird. However though, I really want to you be okay, so if you need to rant, need someone to listen, or you want to pick my brain about anything, I’m only an email away; firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to your messages.
Okay, so what have I been up to lately? Let’s see!
Lately I have been;
Eating: A lot of things! I can’t even begin to narrow it down. I’m on a mission to add weight, which is already taking shape nicely. I guess the only thing I need to worry about is the ‘tummy-rolls’ that come with it. Well I guess we’ll figure that our when we reach that bridge. Haha! My sister has been experimenting with her baking skills, and of course I am the chief-taster!
Feeling: Excited, Tired, Sad, Pumped, Anxious, Calm, Inspired, Uninspired, etc. And this is me being honest with you. It’s a rollercoaster of different emotions everyday. Some days you wake up really excited, other days you hope for the best. Especially when you consider the whole pandemic, and how Nigeria seems to be on the rise everyday when it comes to the number of cases recorded. It’s even more sad that people have to go their jobs right in the middle of this. But you know what, even in the midst of this, I choose to be hopeful and I trust that all will be well with the world soon.
Drinking: Water. It’s been a minute since I had any juice or drink. I should fix that soon.
Reading: So many novels! I had to pause for a while so that I don’t exhaust all the ones I have. So far I’ve read a couple of Danielle Steel’s novels like ‘The Numbers Game, Child’s Play, Moral Compass.’ I just started reading ‘Spy’ also by her. I also caught up on some really nice African literatures like ‘Stay with me, My Sister, the serial killer and Elsewhere Home’ I intend to start reading 29, single and Nigerian very soon. I’ve loved all of these books and it’s been incredible journeying with the characters. (What books would you recommend for me?)
Watching: 2 Broke Girls for the umpteenth time! That’s without question my favourite series of all time. I get to laugh and learn some very valuable lessons. Bliss!
Looking forward: To the designs I’ll start creating after my graphic designing training. Okay, a little backstory to this. About 2 weeks ago, there was an opportunity to enrol for a training in graphic designing, and I took it. I have always had some interest in it, especially since I do a little work with Canva . I would later find out that this is nothing like Canva. I mean, the end products might look like the templates on Canva but that’s after you must have created it yourself – and this beautiful process involves your hand, eyes, head, waist, back, legs, etc. Guys, I kid you not. It’s that intense. Honestly, I almost gave up at some point because my laptop decided to have a mind of its own. But my trainer called me and told me not to give up and made sure I didn’t. I’m extremely glad I didn’t give up. It’s been an extremely challenging but very rewarding journey so far and I can’t wait to see the beautiful results after this.
Anticipating: The first Sunday in church after this pandemic. I’m so ready to throw it down!
Learning: So many Godly and life lessons with the numerous devotionals on the Youversion Bible app. When you say something is gold, that’s exactly what that app is. It makes Bible study so real, personal and exciting. Whoever came up with it is blessed beyond measures.
Missing: Singing with the choir. I long for that harmony and fellowship we experience when we sing together. It’s just priceless.
Thankful: For my family. God has been faithful and I’m just really grateful.
Loving and Appreciating: The time I get to add, subtract and restructure my book launch plans. I mean, I was a little pissed at first because the launch was so close and then, Covid -19 shows up. It wasn’t easy to understand, in fact I struggled with accepting that I can’t even put a time frame to it at the moment. But honestly lately, I’m loving the time I have been given to make it better. Jeremiah 29:11 has become my solace. You know what? I’m just going to save the rest of the story for my speech that day.
Enjoying: The cool weather. The rains are here and I love it!
Amused and Amazed: By the number of ideas I get every time I’m in the shower. I started taking note of it a while ago, and I found it amusing but also amazing. Some great ideas have been birthed in the bathroom my friends, and I’ll tell you about them very soon.
Hoping and Praying: That everything returns back to normal soon. I can’t wait!
That’s it from this side guys. I should do an updated version of this soon. Let’s see how it goes.
